A 12-year-old boy, Samson Egunje, has been accused of killing his friend, Samuel Igbekele, in the Ikotun area of Lagos State. The incident happened on Saturday on Omoboriowo Street. Residents said the suspect, a primary six pupil, had been looking for the victim all day, saying he abused him in the morning and threatening that he would stab him in revenge.

Egunje was said to have stabbed Samuel with a bottle in the neck that evening while he (Samuel), a primary three pupil, ran errand for a neighbour. After the attack, the victim reportedly held his neck as he ran across the road in a frantic effort to get to his parents’ house which was a few kilometres away.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have smashed a drug trafficking syndicate, with the arrest of 14 suspects.

The suspects were alleged to have dissolved some of the drugs, worth N3 million, in water and absorbed in two towels and a T-shirt, while others were industrially packed in tin foods and body cream packs.

Officers of the Ogida Police Division in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State have arrested one Osaro for allegedly defiling his nine-year-old daughter.

The mother of the victim said her husband had pushed her out of their apartment at about 8pm on Christmas day and locked her two daughters inside the room after a misunderstanding, before defiling one of them. She said,

“On Christmas day, he drove me out at about 8pm and was alone inside with the children. The next day, my daughter told me what he did to her. When I wanted to examine my daughter, he beat me up.”

The 43-year-old actress and mother of Jaden, 16, and Willow, 14, shows off her toned abs, and fit physique in a sexy orange swimsuit for Shape magazine's January/February 2015 issue. Jada talked about the importance of working out and staying in shape saying:

“When my husband of almost 20 years can’t take his eyes off me? That’s amazing," she said. "But the number one reason I go to the gym is because it keeps me sane; I can deal with whatever’s coming at me.”

Oprah Winfrey is no longer the world’s richest black woman. That distinction now belongs to Nigerian oil baroness and fashionista Folorunsho Alakija. Alakija is worth at least $3.3 billion — about $300 million more than American television personality Oprah — Ventures Africa reports.

The Edo State CCommand has arrested an 85-year old man for allegedly defiling a seven-year old girl at Use, Ogida Quarters in Egor Local Government Area. It was learnt that the incident, which was reported at the Ogida Police Division, had been transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation.

The mother of the victim, Endurance Ogieva, a rice hawker, alleged that she was offered N1 million by relatives of the suspect for the case to be withdrawn. In a chat with reporters at the police station, Mrs. Ogieva said the act was committed at the home of the suspect, where she left her children with her sister.

A mechanic, Olajide Olaniran, has stabbed a 34-year-old man, Julius Joseph, for allegedly pinging on the road while driving in the Ijaiye area of Lagos State.

Joseph was returning from a bank in the area to withdraw money when Olaniran, who was in a Toyota Corolla, blocked the road and accused him of pinging and driving. It was, however, learnt that Joseph was checking an alert he received on his phone when the incident occured.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 22-year-old Oluwaropo Tifase, for allegedly killing his father, Moses Tifase, in the Mile 2 area of the state. Oluwaropo, who is the fifth child and only son of the family, had h clashes with his parents in the past over financial issues.

According to the police, Oluwaropo, a suspected cultist, was rusticated from a university in Ondo State, a few years ago for some cult-related offences. PUNCH Metro gathered that 75-year-old Moses, a retired mechanical engineer, was stabbed to death in the neck with a pair of scissors.

Chris Rock has filed for divorce form his wife of nearly 20 years, Malaak Compton-Rock.

The 49-year-old filed for divorce back in 2006, but ended up reconciling with his wife. They have been married since 1996 and have two daughters together, Lola Simone, 12, and Zahra Savannah, 10.

Malaak submitted a statement to People emphasizing her philanthropy work:

A 45-year-old man, Mr. Nwofu Igbo of Nwofe community in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, weekend confessed to killing his 16-year-old son (name withheld) who returned from Lagos State to celebrate Christmas with members of the family.

Nwofu killed his son over a squabble between him and the deceased mother earlier before she was chased away by his father (Nwofu) over an undisclosed reason. It was also gathered that Nwofu had since married another wife, who bore him five children and took possession of all that belonged to the dead woman.

The police have arrested four suspected robbers at a Lagos market who claimed they did not steal from the traders, but only came to collect their dues. The suspects- Onyenge Osanie, Azuka Eboh, Ezelonwu Michael and Afolabi Shakiru- were nabbed by the police while they were looting some shops and robbing traders at the Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspects, who are four members of a ten-man gang, were arrested by operatives of the state Special Anti-Robbery Squad on December 20. According to the police, the gang, which is led by a runaway suspect identified simply as Friday, made use of locally-made guns in their operations.
