Activist entertainment icon, Charles Oputa, a.k.a Charly Boy,on Tuesday lauds the President Buhari led fight against corruption, and pledges to promote the anti-corruption campaign.
He stated this during a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. Charly Boy said:
“I commend this Government’s fight against corruption, and hope that the actors and key players in the fight are sincere.
“I want to lend my voice in supporting the campaign against corruption in our country.
“No matter what is anyone’s view of the “Charly Boy’ brand, I stand on integrity and wants things to be done right in our nation”, he expressed.
He added that corruption was a serious bane facing the country, as our resources are exploited by a few privileged persons.
“The result is under-development and hunger in the midst of plenty”, he said.
The “Areafada,, as he is popularly called by fans, said he was in NAN to identify with it as a credible media organisation, and to solicit support for the promotion of his youth advocacy programmes.
Acting Managing Director, Mr Jones Afolabi, said that NAN was ready to partner any worthy course that will promote progress, peace and stability in the country.
He added that with its wider reach, the Agency was the best channel to spread any message across Nigeria and beyond.
