A four-woman kidnap gang has been arrested by the Imo State police command for kidnapping and selling a 5-year-old cousin of one of them for N400k.
A 22-year-old member of the gang revealed that they abducted the girl just to “get back at her father.” Chiamaka Ukeje, from Imo State, was said to have confessed to selling five-year-old Chinagorom Ndukwe, who is the daughter of her uncle, for N400,000.
She claimed that her own father and the father of Chinagorom had some “problems” and that kidnapping her was her own way of punishing her father
The suspects reportedly served various jail terms in Federal Prisons in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where they met and allegedly formed a kidnap gang.
The other suspects are Sandra Ezuka, 26, from Ozoro, Delta State; Ruth Solomon, 41, Umuehie Anara in the Isiala Mbano LGA; and Joy Edum, 45, from Abua, Rivers.
The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, said the victim has been recovered from the buyer, Joy Edum, a resident of Rumwara Obiakpo, Rivers State.
